HIV Care Continuum Treatment Cascades

The Department of State Health Services disseminates annual HIV Treatment Cascades to the Administrative Agency that depict the current HIV Care Continuum for PanWest and West Texas HIV Service Delivery Areas. The HIV care continuum—sometimes also referred to as the HIV treatment cascade—is a model that outlines the sequential steps or stages of HIV medical care that people living with HIV go through from initial diagnosis to achieving the goal of viral suppression (a very low level of HIV in the body), and shows the proportion of individuals living with HIV who are engaged at each stage. This data helps to identify target populations and gives a clear picture of the number of PLWH in our areas.
