Know Your Status!
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 1 in 5 Americans living with HIV are not aware of their infection. In 2015, nearly 40,000 people were diagnosed with HIV. Thirty percent of new HIV infections are transmitted by people who are living with undiagnosed HIV. For those who are living with undiagnosed HIV, testing is the first step in maintaining a healthy life and reducing the spread of HIV.
If you test negative, you can take steps to stay that way. If you test positive, you can get treatment to protect your partners, stay healthy, and extend your life and enhance its quality.
